Join West Michigan World Trade Association for our Annual Awards celebration held prior to West Michigan World Trade Week. Founded in 1960, the West Michigan World Trade Association is a well-respected gateway for world trade development in the area. The organization seeks to provide:
*high quality ongoing education
*valuable networking opportunities
*peer-to-peer sharing of industry specific best practices
*mentorship to the next generation

In response to rising trade, the organization launched the World Trader of the Year Award 1977. Each year, nominations are accepted and a single award is issued to an individual, academic/organization or business that:
*holds a strong presence in the West Michigan area
*conducts business in several foreign countries
*demonstrates commitment to international trade
*and is innovative

Past award recipients include prominent community members such as: SoundOff Signal, Gordon Food Service, Founder's Brewing Co., Fred Keller of Cascade Engineering, Amway, Birgit Klohs of The Right Place Inc., Van Andel Global Trade Center and many more.

This year the Board has decided to expand this award to select a recipient in each category. WMWTA is pleased to announce that we have chosen to honor the following 2019 winners:
Dematic, World Trader of the Year BUSINESS Award Recipient
Women At Risk International, World Trader of the Year ORGANIZATION Award Recipient
Kerri Orders, World Trader of the Year INDIVIDUAL Award Recipient

We will also honor the 2019 Student Study Abroad Scholarship Recipient, Joshua Hunter, and hear a short testimony regarding the experience of Kyle Ferris (the 2018 winner).

A cocktail and hors d'ourves reception will occur as the sun sets over our great city. Located on Miller Johnson's outdoor patio, you won't want to miss this view or the excitement of congratulating the winners! Register now as space is limited.
